English Bible Study

Welcome to St. Didacus Adult English Bible Study

We're a weekly Catholic bible discussion and prayer group. We usually read and talk about the upcoming Sunday scriptures, with occasional special subjects added. Each meeting starts with light discussion, then prayers of supplication and thanksgiving. With an invocation of the Spirit, we read each passage, and work towards an understanding of the spiritual themes that unite each reading. We try to be particular observant of Christ revealed in all scriptures, both new and old testaments. We sometime make amazing discoveries!

This class is entirely lay-oriented. We have discovered through the years that a dozen or more adult Catholics can often succeed in understanding together, each using their unique knowledge base and life experiences. Along with the Spirit, we are guided by the Word of Scripture, and Church Tradition as taught in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

We welcome all adult Catholics to our group. If you are curious and don't know much about scripture, or if you know your bible well, we'd love to have you join us! Often we have students that join for a time during holy seasons, or are in some particular situation where they need extra prayers and understanding. Again, we welcome you in a spirit of friendship and fellowship in Christ!
